Photographer Ron Dulle will present "History on the Back Roads of Southeast Colorado" at the Southeastern Colorado Heritage Center, located at 201 W. B Street. The show of some 30 photographs will explore rivers, canyons, and roads where early Colorado explorers, traders and adventurers opened doors for those who followed. It explores tracks along the Purgatorie, Huerfano and Arkansas Rivers, the Military Freight Road, the Santa Fe Trail and little known sites from Pueblo to Kim, Holly to Trinidad, including Bent's Fort.
The exhibit is part of Dulle's ongoing eight year effort of artfully photographing the remaining Santa Fe Trail sites throughout Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, the Oklahoma Panhandle and New Mexico. It is the only known project of its kind and scope.
